Introduction Of Naat
Introduction Of Naat
I would like to introduce the concept of Naat. With the reference of Wikipedia:
A "Naat" is poetry that specifically praises Prophet Muhammad. Many of the famous scholars in the earlier days of Islam wrote Naat. One of Muhammad's followers was Hassan ibn Thaabit, famous for his poetry that defended Muhammad in response to rival poets that attacked him and his religion. Islamic poetry is rich in the praise of Muhammad. Rarely is there any Muslim poet who is without any piece written on him.
Naat is an evidence of love with our Prophet. Naat or Naat Khawani can be in any language. So their may be punjabi naats, urdu naats, english naats, sindhi naats etc. Naat is a matter of love which is independant from the barrier of language and borders of countries.
A person who is involvoed in Naat Khawani is known as Naat Khawan. Their are number of famous naat khawan who have gained a reknown position not only in their native countries but also world-wide. Some famous Naat Khawan are:
Owais Raza Qadri
Syed Sabihuddin Rehmani
Saeed Hashmi
Siddique Isamail
Khursheed Ahmed
Farhan Ali Qadri
Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi
Fasih u Din
You can visit a complete list of naat khawans at www.naat.tv. Along with Male Naat Khawan, Their are also Ladies Naat Khawan. As i have already mentioned that it is state of love, so it has no limits regarding to gender as well. Ladies Naat Khawan also express their feelings of love with their prophet with the help of Naat Khawani. Some Famous Ladies Naat Khawans are:
Umm-e-Habiba
Tabinda Lari
Saba Sattar
Muneeba
Ambar Saleem
Hooria Rafique
Saba Chaudhary
Islamic poetry is rich in the praise of Prophet Muhammad. Rarely is there any Muslim poet who is without any piece written on him. This is mainly inspired from the Islamic traditions that each act of veneration would result in ten times the blessing of God on the praiser.
